The term 5S is consistently rejected, and very often misused. Many moments of stress and frustration are caused by members of an organization to believe that “clean up” the definition of 5S, when in reality the game is actually only a very small proportion of 5S. So what is 5S?

5S can be defined as a method for a workshop, then the transformation of a better performance of the work workstation. In essence, it’s just a step away from removing as much attention as possible Company. 5S vary by company and counsel, but the fundamental goal remains the same. Here are a few different versions:

The 5S 5S is typical We ensure that the Level 1, Level 2 5S, 5S level 3 and so on. These are essentially the same, but because the goal is always the same purpose. The objective is to organize a company work, gives objects a house and, finally, to maintain an effective organization organized. These examples make use of different terms and methods, but ultimately they work towards the same goal – maintaining a work environment clean and tidy, then pushing business to keep it. Let us now to know why this would happen to society.

5S is a welding process, because it serves to bring waste from daily activities. If time is not used to thinking about the location of a specific tool is needed for a job, the time is stored in a quantity issue. Waiting around is a form of waste of time. If time is not lost are three meters of the tool where it comes from, because there is a dedicated board of shadow, where the work is done, then you have won even more time and got more productivity. Simple adjustments such as adding a lot of the time saved when the entire organization is considered.

5S has other issues that are interesting and useful education. First, it is always a big test of the commitment of your company regarding the long-term conservation of lean practices. If your company is unable to implement the 5S program that is supported for over a week, then you have a very difficult time when it comes to more advanced topics such as Kaizen events. 5S is a fundamental concept and is the basis for the success of continuous improvement programs. 5S Kaizen programs without using their cars as no interior. Of course, the car can be made to work, but it could be painful.

Some companies are not at the implementation of 5S in an unnecessary level. Of course it’s great to be productive and painted floors, shadow everywhere signs, labels, etc. However, you do not need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to lean practices and sustainable. Be smart and proactive and make sure everything is organized and has resolved a good reasoning behind it. The first and second level of 5S are of utmost importance. If you can achieve the first two levels, then you are definitely on track to achieve the status of a world class facility.
